Hey Warrior Workbook

The Hey Warrior Workbook is the ultimate sidekick to ‘Hey Warrior’ and ‘Ups and Downs’.

Jam-packed with practical activities, powerful strategies, and clever little life skills, this workbook will help kids wrangle anxiety, build their brave, and navigate their big feelings (waaay easier when they have the guide!).

It’s playful. It’s practical. It’s got warmth, humour, and loads of heart. Best of all, it will guide kids through their ups, downs, and everything in between, all while supporting them to explore their feelings, build self-awareness, and find what works for them.

The more kids can understand why they feel the way they do, and how those feelings influence what they do, the more they can meet those feelings with compassion, confidence, and clarity.

Because all kids can do amazing things with the right information.

For ages 5-12. (And super helpful for grown-ups too!)

This a fabulous resource. I work with individuals with brain injuries, and find that the explanations, easy to understand metaphors, clear instructions, and colourful illustrations make this my go to workbook. I ordered one initially and keep going back for more. My daughter (18) saw it and loved it, so I got her one too!

As a Guidance Officer and Mum, I knew this was going to be a brilliant workbook to help the little people. I was not wrong! I have now purchased a bulk order to have on hand at work.

Love them all!! I think I have all of the books and this one just adds some activities to help with my students! We have a calm space with 3 warriors ready to be held if needed. The kids love it!

Ups and Downs uses a wonderful analogy to help young children understand emotions — and then expands on this analogy to explain how emotions can cause you to move in both an upward and downward direction. However, the best part of this book is the guide for parents – especially the importance of modeling. Being a parent is the ultimate ‘pay it forward’ job, and Karen acknowledges how hard this can be. Kudos!!

Thank you Karen for more incredible resources! Your materials are essential to the success I experience working with children, teens, and adults. I can’t say enough! Thank you! Also, I can’t tell you how many times I have read Hey warrior and Dear Brain to adults and they were so grateful to understand in a comprehensive way and gain a narrative for what they were experiencing.
God Bless you and the work you do in the world!

A wonderful resource i use in my psychology clinic regularly. My only complaint is I wish there was even more!

A fantastic book that is aligned nicely with Polyvagal theory. A great resource to teach children (and adults) about their nervous system and brain, along with practical strategies to help manage overwhelming feelings. Thank you Karen for another absolute pearler!

Once again a wonderful resource from Karen Young. This beautiful workbook, has great practical strategies that work alongside her books beautifully when working with children and families.

This book is great to compliment the other Karen Young Books. It is great way to individualise these resources and support continued practice outside of therapy sessions. I would highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect accompaniment to the Hey Warrior and Ups and Downs books when working with children and their families navigating anxiety, emotions, and understanding their brains.
